A NEW 100-mile world record

A new 100-mile world record was set Saturday, August 24th by Zach Bitter from Wisconsin. 100 miles in 11 hours, 19 minutes, 13 seconds. I’m having trouble wrapping my head around that.

That’s a 6:47 per mile pace. For 100 miles.

That pace translates to a 2:58 marathon, except he did it for 100 miles. Nearly four marathons. Nonstop.

That pace translates to 21:06 for a 5K. He did it for 100 miles. That’s 32 1/2 consecutive 5Ks.

Absolutely incredible.
